Last night we stayed at schull Harbour, met two fellow campers, who were Irish.

Apparently we had a nice sunrise.

Although there were threatening clouds, the day brightened up and we continued along the wild Atlantic way

towards mizen Head. Fantastic views, coastal walks and the fastnet lighthouse. 12 miles away and clearly visible.

The lighthouse itself was constructed in sections in the UK, and then shipped close to fastnet rock where the sections were transferred to rowing boats to be taken ashore. Total weight was over 4600 tons and it took 6 summers to complete. Hard to believe on a day like today, but in bad weather the waves break over the lighthouse, which is 75ft tall.

We then continued and found a parking spot right on the beach.
